Club Rules

Due to Department of Education Regulations the Broome High School grounds are out of bounds. Pickup and drop off of gymnasts can be made from the car park on the Haynes oval side of the school. Please walk to gymnasium only and do not wander through the school.
Smoking is NOT permitted on school grounds or inside gymnasium.

All gymnasts and parents should make themselves familiar with the club rules below:

 Drop off/Pick Up

  • Gymnasts are to arrive 10 minutes prior scheduled class time.
  • Gymnasts are to collected by Parent/Guardian from inside the gymnasium when their class has finished.
  • We welcome and encourage parents to sit and watch, however, non participating children must be supervised at all times.

Car Park Rules

  • Do not drop gymnasts in car park – please escort them to gymnasium.
  • Keep watch for children at all times.
  • 2 km speed limit in car park.

Gymnasium Rules

  • No one is permitted in gymnasium without a club representative present.
  • No food or drink in main gymnasium.
  • No dark soled shoes or high heeled shoes to be worn in the gymnasium. Socks or white soled and non-marking shoes only.
  • No one is permitted on any equipment unless instructed by a Senior Coach.
  • No running in the gymnasium unless instructed by a coach.
  • No one is permitted into gym area apart from gymnasts attending class and parents on request.
  • Gymnasts must ask for permission to leave class for any reason.
  • Children are not permitted outside the gymnasium without adult supervision.
  • Misuse of the equipment will not be tolerated.

Dress Code/Grooming

  • No jewellery to be worn during classes, with the exception of stud earrings.
  • Hair must be neat and tidy and tied off the face.
  • Appropriate clothing must be worn to classes, this includes:-
Club training leotard, bathers, bike shorts, crop tops. No loose or baggy clothing.
  • Bring own water bottle (push up top only) and towel ( to be clearly marked with name).
  • Please do not bring valuables to class, we will not be held accountable for any loss or damage.

Members Behavioural Policy & Classes/Communication

Pearl Coast Gymnastics Club enforces a behavioural policy based on 5 key principles:-

  • COOPERATION:- We value cooperation, as we believe it is far more productive to work together with each other.
  • COURTESY:- We are all entitled to polite, courteous consideration.
  • INTEGRITY:- We value honesty, Trust and Respect for others and their property.
  • BEHAVIOURAL BELIEFS:- All members must accept responsibility for their own behaviour, as all behaviour has a consequence.
  • GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:-
    • Being punctual and being courteous to others and treating them with respect.
    • Classes are progressive therefore regular attendance is required to gain results.
    • Please notify the relevant coach if you are going away on holidays during term time.
    • Please ensure that you approach your child’s coach in regard to any coaching/gymnastic queries.
    • Do not approach coaches during training times.

All these rules apply to gymnasts, parents, guardians and non-participating children/youth, coaches administrators, judges, volunteers and management. Failure to abide by these rules may result in disciplinary action being taken.

 CONDITION: I acknowledge and bear responsibility and the risk to my child participating in the sport of gymnastics. I have explained to my child the need to follow safety instructions, remain in areas designated by staff, and refrain from behaviour that could cause injury. I acknowledge the request from management that children enrolled in the program are kept clear of the floor and equipment prior to their class and children NOT enrolled in the program are to be kept clear of the training area equipment at all times.
